Who We Are

The staff at the Adult Learning Center provides assistance for both students and volunteer tutors in our programs.  We are here to support students on their journeys and help them get to their destinations.  We also train and support the volunteer tutors that offer their time and dedication to these programs. Adult Learning programs include:

  • English as a Second Language Classes
  • Citizenship Classes
  • GED Classes
  • Career Online High School
  • Adult Literacy Classes

What We Do

The Adult Learning Center provides free tutors for those wishing to improve their English skills, obtain citizenship, and finish their GED.  There are individual and small group classes in all areas.  Volunteer tutors are required to take a Adult Learning Center new tutor orientation, shadow a current class and dedicate at least 6 months commitment to the program.

NOTE: In April 2024, the Adult Learning Center will be moving to the new Clifton location, located at 3270 D 1/2 Road! Because of this, we are actively recruiting volunteers who are able to volunteer 1.5-2 hours at the Clifton Library. If you apply to be a volunteer after 10/1/2023, when you complete the application to be a volunteer with our program, please note whether or not you are able to volunteer in Clifton. Thank you!
