Multitudes is an interactive arts program in support of life-long learning and creative aging by local artist, writer and teacher, Wendy Videlock.
This is an introduction to the joy of design and composition with various paint pens and other acrylic media. In this session we will observe details in the world around us and practice the art of being inspired by the familiar and the strange.
This event takes place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 10 in the Palisade Branch Library Outdoor Area. Seating is limited, and registration is required. Please register below.
The Multitudes program consists of seven 90-minute sessions culminating in a final Celebration and art show at the Palisade Branch Library. The Multitudes program seeks to provide meaningful art experiences and ultimately cultivate a better quality of life, a deeper sense of community, a love of the humanities, and an appreciation of learning and creating among its elder residents. This series is intended for adults ages 51+.
Wendy Videlock lives at the foot of the Grand Mesa, known to the Ute as Thunder Mountain or Thigunawait, Land of the Spirits Long Departed. Wendy's visual art appears across the Western Slope in Willow Creek Herbs, Teas, and Gallery, Working Artists Gallery, and the Blue Pig Gallery. Her poems, essays and creative non-fiction appear internationally in such journals as Hudson Review, Poetry Magazine, The New York Times, Best American Poetry, and Scotland's Dark Horse. Her books are available from Able Muse Press and EXOT Books. Her upcoming collection of essays, The Poetic lmaginarium: A Worthy Difficulty, (Lithic Books), will appear in early 2022 and her upcoming collection of poems, Wise to the West, (Able Muse Press) will also appear in 2022.
