The Human Library is a powerful, interactive event where community members become Readers and “borrow” speakers—our living Books—for meaningful, one-on-one conversations. These honest exchanges are designed to challenge stereotypes, build empathy, and deepen understanding through real lived experiences.
This year’s Human Library will take place on Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this unique event to life.
As a volunteer, you’ll play a key role in keeping the Human Library running smoothly by welcoming Readers and Books and guiding them to their assigned stations. Acting as a “Shelver” or usher, you’ll become familiar with the event layout and serve as a friendly, supportive presence—helping connections happen and conversations begin.
