The Human Library is a powerful, interactive event where community members become Readers and “borrow” speakers—our living Books—for meaningful, one-on-one conversations. These honest exchanges are designed to challenge stereotypes, build empathy, and deepen understanding through real lived experiences.
This year’s Human Library will take place on Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this unique event to life.
As a volunteer, you’ll play a key role in keeping the Human Library running smoothly by welcoming participants and supporting the Reader experience from the moment they arrive. Volunteers will assist with Reader signups, answer questions, and help check in Readers using a basic computer program. You’ll also share essential information and handouts about the Human Library, helping ensure each Reader feels informed, comfortable, and ready to engage in meaningful conversation.
