Who We Are

Who We Are: The Public Services department is responsible for managing shelving in the central library and we could not do that without volunteers. We process thousands of materials each day and organization matters greatly.

What We Do

What We Do: Public Services create library accounts for our patrons, check-in and check-out library materials, shelve returned and new materials, and manage the inventory procedures for our physical collection at the central library. Volunteers help us get materials back on the shelves in a timely and accurate manner, they make sure our shelves are clean and organized, and they create a pleasant browsing experience for others. Volunteers also reunite recently cleaned DVDs and audiobook discs with their cases, prepare library materials for shipment to other libraries, search for missing materials, and help us keep up with inventory reports
